NDC Inc - Customer Service Representative

Location: Lavergne, TN

Position Summary:

This position processes customer orders and assists customers with questions and provides supporting documentation. This position also assists customers with product, shipping, and other service issues, and will:

  • Process purchase orders (FAX - EDI - or online orders). All orders must be processed on a timely basis in order to ship on scheduled days. These include standard weekly orders as well as same day rush shipments, orders shipped direct from manufacturers and drop shipments to dealers' customers.
  • Work closely with NDC corporate personnel. There is a great deal of communication between vendor relations, sales, marketing and the accounting departments.
  • Handle incoming phone calls from customers and vendors every day. These calls include everything from checking the status of their orders to tracking information on shipped orders. Other types of calls include questions about product information, product availability, promos, backorder status, pricing and MSDS. Calls have to be made to and from vendors checking on orders that are pending and issues customers have contacted them about directly. As well as incoming calls, there are calls that have to be returned to customers and vendors. Research is a major part of customer service which involves phone calls to vendors and back to the customer, this is a vital part of the communication in the NDC relationship with the customer. Communication and teamwork within the department is also vital in providing top quality customer service. All CSR's are in constant communication with each other making sure no one else is working on the same issue and that we are all on the same page. Teamwork is what makes us the BEST.
  • Keep NAFTA information current. All shipments to Canada must have accurate NAFTA information included with each piece of merchandise. This is an important but very time consuming process.
  • Fax and copy documents that a customer may need such as missing packing slips, MSDS information, product literature, credits or RGA's or anything else they may need. The CSR team also helps with issuing discrepancies and RGA's. Cleaning up reports and developing excel spread sheets that help make finding product information easier is a very important part of their duties.
  • Work closely with warehouse personnel daily in solving customer problems with inventory, special order items and rush shipments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to multi-task at a very high level and exude patience
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Requires strong critical thinking skills
  • Requires strong working knowledge of MS Office computer programs
  • Must have an outgoing personality and an extremely positive attitude
